How do people invest in their community? Everyone invests money, time, energy and resources into their community. Most would not look at these as investments but as an expense of their money or volunteering their time and resources.
Most residents in a community pay taxes and spend a good share of their income at local businesses. Everyone appreciates good roads, services, education and numerous other things provided by a community.
People have grown into an age when they want and need all of these for a good quality of life for their families, friends and themselves. Residents want a community they can be proud of and places to go with families and friends for social and recreational time. They want good schools, medical care, churches and organizations right in their own communities. To obtain this, they also are investing financial resources to maintain and improve everything in the community.
People spend their money at local businesses and rely on them for goods and services and appreciate having that convenience. Again, this is an investment in the community to sustain and grow it so there is a place to purchase items for everyday use.
What about time? Where would any community be if it were without all of the time many people give to it? Hundreds of people give their time to organizations, churches, schools, youth and community. People give their time to emergency and other services that everyone appreciates and needs. Again these people are investing time into their community to make it a better place to live and raise families. Considerable time, energy, and resources are invested into a community by many residents.
Communities are only as successful as the investments into them by their local residents. Fortunately, hundreds of people are investing in rural communities to make them a place where people want to work, live, raise families and enjoy a quality of life everyone appreciates now and in the future.
